Development of Total Water Management (TWM) Opportunities: Partners with the project development team to provide project engineering support by developing process flow sheets, preparing proposals & estimates, and offering technical and commercial support during client meetings.
Project Management of TWM Projects: Leads the execution phase, guiding the project team and sub-vendors, with responsibilities for project KPIs (cost, time performance). Supervises commissioning, start-up, and handover of the plant to the O&M team.
Support for O&M Team: Assists in troubleshooting and continuous improvement in existing TWM contracts.
Relationship Building: Capable of building long-term relationships with internal and external customers by understanding their key business drivers. High emotional intelligence is essential for this role.
Recommended Profile:
- Education: Degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and supporting the sale of water and wastewater equipment and systems, including clarification, filtration, membrane separation, RO/UF, DAF, solids separation, metals removal, and biological treatments for industrial clients.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in project execution.
- Familiarity with water treatment plant commissioning and start-up processes.
- Fluent in English and French, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Commercial mindset and financial acumen.
- Synthesis and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage conflicts and work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for project discovery, development, and presentation of solutions.
- High proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Report to the TWM Engineering Manager within the Commercial Engineering organization.
- Based in France with regular contact with the supervisor.
- Proficient in various water treatment technologies and capable of designing water treatment systems, including preparing mass balances, flow sheets, water mapping, equipment selection, and costing.
- Familiar with engineering drawings such as P&ID, general arrangements, isometric sketches, data sheets, troubleshooting lists, and automation diagrams.
- Analyze water and wastewater systems from mechanical, operational, and chemical perspectives, proposing compliant solutions.
- Engage proactively with clients and colleagues to determine project needs and develop specifications based on business models.
- Supervise or conduct site surveys, concept, and basic design, balancing technical and economic considerations.
- Utilize technical and financial expertise to support project qualification, optimizing resource use.
- Manage project budgets, communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, and address issues during project execution.
- Maintain relationships with customers, address technical/business issues, and support contract renewals.
- Assist with troubleshooting and improvements in existing O&M contracts.
- Stay informed of international standards and environmental legislation relevant to equipment and safety.
